KMV NCC Cadet Excels at CATC-42 (Combined Annual Training Camp) by bagging Gold medal
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) NCC cadets enthusiastically participated in the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) held recently at Jalandhar Cantt. The 10-day camp was organised by the 2 Pb (G) Bn NCC, Jalandhar, in collaboration with the Indian Army, with the objective of providing cadets practical exposure to military life and training.
Jalandhar, December 30, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) NCC cadets enthusiastically participated in the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) held recently at Jalandhar Cantt. The 10-day camp was organised by the 2 Pb (G) Bn NCC, Jalandhar, in collaboration with the Indian Army, with the objective of providing cadets practical exposure to military life and training.
During the camp, cadets underwent intensive training sessions in drill, weapon handling, first aid, communication skills and leadership development. They were also imparted detailed knowledge about the weapons and equipment used by the Indian Army, helping them gain firsthand understanding of defence preparedness.
In addition, the Indian Army conducted a series of lectures and workshops focusing on SSB preparation, leadership qualities and defence awareness. These sessions played a significant role in enhancing the cadets’ confidence, discipline and overall personality development. The camp also served as an eligibility camp, after which cadets will qualify to appear for the BEE and CEE certificate examinations.
Prof Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi stated that such training programmes are a vital component of holistic education. She appreciated Lt Sufalica Kalia for providing these opportunities and commended the NCC Unit for working zealously to offer a wide range of activities on a daily basis, enabling girls to develop leadership qualities and emerge as future leaders of the nation.
Commanding Officer Col R.S. Lehal also appreciated the dedication of the cadets and lauded their excellent performance throughout the camp. He emphasised the importance of defence training and its relevance in shaping strong, disciplined and responsible citizens, adding that such programmes play a crucial role in empowering young women and promoting holistic education.
