KMV NCC Cadet emerges as India’s only Girl cadet selected for National level achievement
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) Senior Under Officer Tara has brought pride to the institution and directorate by successfully completing the Advance Mountaineering and Adventure Sports Camp, along with the prestigious Search and Rescue Course 2026 held at Dirang.
Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) Senior Under Officer Tara has brought pride to the institution and directorate by successfully completing the Advance Mountaineering and Adventure Sports Camp, along with the prestigious Search and Rescue Course 2026 held at Dirang. Demonstrating exceptional courage, endurance, and technical expertise in high-altitude conditions, Tara has been officially recommended for induction into a specialised search and rescue team in the Himalayas. This recognition highlights her ability to perform demanding rescue operations in extreme mountainous environments.
Adding to the significance of her accomplishment, Tara is the only girl cadet selected from NCC 17 directorate from the entire country, making her achievement truly exceptional at the national level. She also stands out as the sole girl cadet selected among participants from 17 NCC directorates, marking a proud moment for KMV. Officials have highly praised her dedication, discipline, and outstanding performance, noting that such success reflects the increasing participation and excellence of women in challenging fields like mountaineering and disaster response.
Tara’s achievement not only brings laurels to her institution but also serves as a powerful inspiration for young cadets nationwide to pursue excellence in adventure and defence training programs. Director Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the trainings, which were a vital part of holistic education. She also commended Lt. Sufalica Kalia, ANO Department of NCC, for working zealously to provide a variety of opportunities and activities every day, enabling girls to emerge as the future leaders of the nation.
