Jalandhar, April 8, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) P.G. Department of Zoology organized a Hemoglobin and Blood Group Testing Camp to commemorate World Health Day. This initiative aligns with the global 2026 theme “Together for Health, Stand with Science”. The camp was primarily organized for students and staff members to promote health consciousness and early detection of nutritional deficiencies.
Students of B.Sc. (Medical Laboratory Technology) determined the blood group and assessed hemoglobin levels of participants using sterile and hygienic techniques. Many participants were able to learn their blood group for the first time, while several cases of low hemoglobin were identified. Participants were also educated about anemia prevention, maintaining a balanced diet, and the importance of regular medical check-ups.
Director Professor (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi emphasized that such camps should be organized regularly on campus to foster social responsibility and ensure the well-being of youth. She appreciated the contribution of students and applauded the efforts of the P.G. Department of Zoology for organizing the camp.
