KMV introduces free of cost Interdisciplinary Courses in Post Graduate Programmes from session 2022-23 onwards

Jalandhar, June 22, 2022: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) in keeping its pace with latest reforms has introduced Credit based system in all its Post Graduate programmes. Along with this, KMV in a new educational reform has decided to offer Interdisciplinary courses in all Post Graduate programmes from session 2022-23. 

Throwing more light on it, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that the students of all the post graduate courses will have an option to opt for any two inter disciplinary courses during their programme each in semester I & semester III. Interdisciplinary courses that will be offered to the students are Communication Skills in English, Basics of Music (Vocal), Human Rights and Constitutional Duties, Basics of Computer Applications and Indian Heritage: Contribution to the world. This will be in sync with one of the  the major strategies of National Educational Policy 2020 which aims at giving emphasis on multidisciplinary courses and to end rigid separation among streams. This will give students a chance to polish their communication skills, computer skills & music skills even at postgraduate level. The courses on Human Rights and Constitutional Duties and Indian Heritage: Contribution to the World will help the students to become better citizens and feel proud about the rich heritage of India. These courses will be offered free of cost and college will not be charging any extra fee for them, but the students will be gaining extra credits from these courses in their degree. 

She further maintained that KMV is already offering seven value added audit courses in all undergraduate programmes namely Foundation Course, Moral Education, Gender Sensitization, Social Outreach, Personality Development, Job readiness and Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Creative Thinking in each semester and they all are also offered free of cost to the students. 
Prof. Dwivedi concluded by saying that all these programs are specially designed keeping in mind the holistic development and growth of the students. These value-added programs prepare the students for life and workplace & all these innovative & first of its kind value-added programs are instrumental in evolving the students as an excellent global citizens & to make them globally employable.
