Jalandhar, November 15, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) inaugurated a Wall Magazine on the theme of ‘Renaissance Age - A Nest of Singing Birds’ an important literary movement.
The magazine covers the major poets of the age: the celebrated bard William Shakespeare, focusing on the themes of love, beauty and time through his Sonnets, the great poet John Donne, representing the intellect through his Metaphysical School of poetry and John Milton’s Epic work ‘Paradise Lost’. The Wall Magazine has been prepared by the students of MA English and MA (English) Five Years Integrated Programme.
During the inauguration, the students enthusiastically participated, reading out engaging excerpts and stanzas from Donne’s famous love poems and Milton’s epics. Students also delved into the concept of the Metaphysical Conceit in John Donne’s poetry. The students put up a strenuous effort to decorate the board with beautiful charts and illustrative drawings.
Principal Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi inaugurated the wall magazine with a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony and averred that activities like these give the students a platform to showcase their creativity and deeper understanding of literary concepts. She lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet, Head, PG Department of English, and all the students for successfully preparing the wall magazine.
