KMV hosts National Award-Winning Educator Ms. Pragya Nopany for Hands-On Physics Workshop 

Jalandhar, September 18, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised an engaging Hands-on Physics Workshop, “Igniting Innovation Through Physics.” The workshop featured Pragya Nopany, National Award-Winning Physics Educator and Founder-Coordinator, BVN-IAPT Anveshika, New Delhi, who captivated the students and faculty with a series of fascinating and thought-provoking Physics demonstrations. Through simple yet intriguing experiments, she demonstrated how everyday observations can reveal profound scientific principles. The demonstrations included the intriguing “Racing Potatoes” experiment, exploration of shadows formed through transparent glass, a fascinating demonstration of pressure using an empty and a water-filled glass separated by a thin glass slab, and an engaging exploration of reflection of light from a concave mirror, among several other experiments. The demonstrations encouraged students to observe, question, predict and arrive at scientific explanations through direct experimentation. The workshop also reflected Nopany’s distinctive approach to Physics education—making Physics visible, tangible and joyful through experimentation rather than limiting it to the textbook. Her interactive methodology created an atmosphere of curiosity and active participation, inspiring learners to look at familiar phenomena from a scientific perspective. 
During her visit to KMV, Nopany also visited the P.G. Department of Physics and KMV Innovation Hub, where she explored a range of student-developed prototypes, innovative working models and projects. She interacted with the students, took keen interest in their ideas and appreciated their efforts towards developing practical solutions through science and technology. She was particularly impressed by the spirit of innovation and creativity reflected in the student projects. The workshop further strengthened KMV’s vision of taking Physics beyond the classroom and transforming learners from passive recipients of knowledge into curious observers, creative thinkers and young innovators. 
Director Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that through initiatives such as hands-on workshops, the Innovation Hub and student-led prototype development, KMV continues to provide a vibrant ecosystem where experimentation leads to curiosity, curiosity leads to inquiry, and inquiry leads to innovation. Dr. Madhumeet Kaur, Dr. Manju Sahni and Dr. Neetu Verma, Head, P.G. Department of Physics were also present on the occasion.
