KMV hosts Mahila Kanya Manch, an International Poetry Forum during its Punjab State Annual Function

Jalandhar, March 12, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) hosted International Poetry Forum Mahila Kavya Manch during its Punjab State Annual Function organised by its Jalandhar unit dedicating it to International Women's Day. 

The event took place under the patronage of Naresh 'Naaz’, the Founder and Chairman of Mahila Kavya Manch, while Niyati Gupta was the Presiding-over dignitary and Hemant Gupta, Trustee & Global Adviser of the forum and Monika Thakur 'Siya' Mahila Kavya Manch Prabhari for Punjab were the Chief Guests. 

On this occasion, KMV Principal Prof (Dr) Atima Sharma Dwivedi, along with Kiran Garg 'Mugdh' National Vice President of Varishth Nagrik Kavya Manch graced the occasion as distinguished guests.  

Special Invitees for the event were Karamjit Kaur Rana President Mahila Kavya Manch Italy and Nitu, DIG, CRPF and a well-known poet from Delhi. 

The program was initiated with Saraswati Vandana by Dr Veena Vij 'Udit', Patron Punjab, Mahila Kavya Manch followed by the melodious rendition of the theme song of the organization by Jyoti Sharma, Amita Aggarwal and Neeru Grover 'Pearl.' During the event,  more than 65 eminent women poets from twelve districts of Punjab- Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Sangrur, Bhatinda, Malerkotla, Fazilka, Fatehgarh Sahib and Barnala  showcased their soulful creativity by reciting their poems dedicated to  International Women's Day. The poems sensitively portrayed and highlighted a variety of themes like the current status of women, their day-to-day problems, the need for their empowerment and an array of other issues. 

Chief Guest Monika Thakur lauded the contribution of such literary events to society, while Principal Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the poets for organising such a  successful event. She averred that KMV is a type of institution that always promote arts & culture & since its inception has been a champion of women empowerment and these kind of events provide a great impetus to the cause of women emancipation and empowerment. 

One of the highlights of the program was that the Punjab Mahila Kavya Manch presented to the Jalandhar Unit for their excellent performance the  'Best Unit Award,' bestowed  every year by Mahila Kavya Manch. 

Dr Veena Vij 'Udit' thanked all the eminent dignitaries, and the poets from all over Punjab for their gracious presence. She also thanked the office bearers of Mahila Kavya Manch Punjab Dr Iradeep, Principal Promila Arora, Benu 'Satish' Kant and Gagandeep Kaur Dhaliwal.  She also complimented the Jalandhar Unit for its exceptional efficiency and thanked its office bearers  Seema Jain, Parveen Gagneja, Jyoti Gogia, Radha Sharma Sharmila Nakra for their dedicated efforts in putting up a grand show.  

Prof Sarla Bhardwaj,  Prof Satinder Kaur, Dr Neelam Julka, Paramjit Kaur Gill,  Dr Renu Gupta, Dr Neetu Vaid Sharma, Pankaj Mahar, Principal Rajpal Kaur,  Meenakshi Sharma & Dr Tanuja Tanu took active part in the program.
