KMV celebrates army day with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya celebrated Army Day with great patriotic fervour & enthusiasm. The celebrations commenced with the floral welcome of Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi. 

Addressing the gathering, she averred that by virtue of being the wife of  Major General G. G. Dwivedi and also as a co-ordinator of Army Wives Welfare Association where service comes before self, she gave the message of duty & discipline to the students. She emphasized on the fact that KMV has always been a patriotic institution since its inception as the college had played a vital role in the freedom struggle of the country.  She asked one and all to always remember the colossal contribution of Indian Army in bringing peace and progress to the country. 

All the army veterans who are currently serving in KMV were also honoured by Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi. The first to be honoured was Captain Manohar Lal followed by Mr Gorakh Singh, Mr Jagir Singh, Mr Rajmal, Mr Balkar Singh, Mr Bhupinder Singh, Mr Kawal Singh and NCC incharge Lt. Ms Seema Arora. Colonel Manmohan Singh was also present on the occasion. PG Department of Visual & Performing Arts brought more warmth to the occasion by singing patriotic songs. 
Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Gurjot, Mrs Harpreet Kaur & Dr Anushobha for successfully organizing the event.
