Jalandhar, April 18, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) in recognition of academic excellence and meritorious achievements of its scholars organised Annual Prize Distribution Function. 
The Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Amit Kauts, Professor, Department of Education, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and Prof. Dr. Deepa Kauts, Head, Department of Education, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar were accorded floral felicitations on this occasion. 
The event was graced with the presence of eminent guests and worthy members of KMV Managing Committee namely Dr. Sushma Chawla (Vice President, KMV Managing Committee), Dr. Sushma Chopra (Secretary, KMV Managing Committee), Dhruv Mittal, Treasurer,  KMV Managing Committee, Dr. Deepali Luthra, Shiv Mittal and Neeru Kapoor (Members, KMV Managing Committee) graced the event with their esteemed presence. 
The proceedings of the ceremony commenced with an invocation to the Goddess of Learning. Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcoming the distinguished guests reaffirmed his faith in the immense potential and monumental will of the KMV scholars, mentoring skills of the faculty can further take KMV to enviable heights of glory and success. She also read out the detailed Annual Report of the college’s outstanding achievements in various fields-academics, co academics, sports, cultural activities etc. Enumerating numerous success stories, she apprised the eminent guests that the institution is creating history by setting up new milestones in the academic arena. KMV, the first Autonomous women institution in Punjab, is also the only institution under GNDU to bag prestigious FIST and CURIE grant by DST, New Delhi. The Academic Autonomy of KMV has given a clear field to implement Upgraded relevant curriculum, innovative teaching methodologies, focus on learning outcomes, exposure to the larger world, global standards in teaching, Internships,Research and international partnerships with Academia and Industry. These successful initiatives implemented in letter & spirit are the winning streaks of KMV that has been forging new pathways  with accelerated changes towards evolution of human society for past 140 years. Progression plans being executed through academic structure have proved to be very dynamic and transformational in building students’ career.  Congratulating the achievers, Dr. Kauts wished them for their bright future and enlightened the august gathering on historic and colossal contribution made by KMV on educational landscape with its rich cultural, academic and historically valuable credentials that started way back in 1886. Today, NEP (National Education Policy) also focuses on Indian Knowledge System to connect Indian youth with their cultural roots. KMV- the Heritage Institution stands as personification of that vision of Patriotism and Culture. Best Student of the Year Award was bestowed upon  Sanjana, for her outstanding performance in academic as well as cultural activities. Vidisha Thakur was honoured with Award for Best Student in ECA, Vishakha Nayyar was awarded for Creative Writing, Shranaya Sharma was awarded with the Best Hostel Student for Social Service. Best Player of the Year award was bagged by Krishika & Navdeep for winning accolades for her alma mater at various international & national levels. More than 200 prizes were given away to the deserving scholars for bringing laurels to the Institution in various categories like Academic excellence, NCC, ECA, Entrepreneurship, Research, Innovation & Creativity, Leadership etc. 
Director lauded the efforts of Dr. Neeraj Maini, Head, PG Department of Commerce and Dr. Rashmi, P.G. Department of Commerce for successfully organising the event.
