KMV and International Human Rights Commission collaborate to organize International Seminar at KMV on occasion of World Human Rights Day

Jalandhar, December 10, 2022: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organized a one day international seminar in collaboration with International Human Rights Commission on Human Rights. 

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcomed the guests and averred that KMV always organizes various activities in order to create awareness about the human rights in the society as only through the implementation of these rights society can be developed. She further maintained that KMV has been since its inception working for the human rights as KMV was the only college to work for women education and empowerment. 

Amandeep Mittal (Director, North Zone, International Human Rights Commission) emphasized on the fact that only with the implementation of these human rights, society can be put on the track of development. He appreciated the efforts and initiatives of KMV in promoting women education and women emancipation & especially lauded the leadership quality of Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi and said that it is only under her able guidance, KMV is scaling new heights of success day by day. 

Adv. Amritpal Bharaj, Legal Advisor, International Human Rights Commission & Ram Chabra, Legal Advisor, International Human Rights Commission said that the service of humanity is the true service and International Human Rights Commission always work for the welfare of the people & moreover, Amandeep Mittal is a great source of inspiration for all of us as we have learnt a lot from them. They further said that their organization keeps on organizing various awareness seminar in colleges & universities so that the younger generation should be made aware about their rights and their duties. They elaborated in detail about the global concern regarding the violation of Human Rights. He also explained that various mechanisms have been created at the national as well as international level for the protection of human rights, but still human rights are being violated in some parts of the world. 


Stikshan Samrol, District Legal Services Authority shed light on various schemes and initiatives launched by the government to provide legal assistance to each and every citizen of our country. 

On this occasion, Adv. Mohammad Rafi, Adv. Gomati Bhagat & Adv. Lovepreet were also present. Students named Manleen Kaur, Shruti Singh, Jotbinder Kaur, Urshika Behal, Nandita Pathania, Muskan Sharma and Vidisha were also honored on this occasion for their brilliant contribution towards spreading awareness in the society pertaining to various social issues. 

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet, Dean, Student Welfare and Ashima Sahni, Head, Department of Political Science and the whole team for organizing the seminar successfully.
