Kila Raipur Rural Olympics – Cabinet Minister Anmol Gagan Maan to preside on final day tomorrow

Ludhiana, February 13, 2024: Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Anmol Gagan Maan will be chief guest in the Final day of the ongoing historic Kila Raipur Rural Olympics-2024. 

Minister Anmol Gagan Maan will distribute prizes among the winners but will also visit the stalls by Self Help Groups set up in the culture and heritage exhibition depicting scenery of old rural Punjab. 

Meanwhile, Gill MLA Jiwan Singh Sangowal presided over the second day of the games which witnessed specially-abled athletes competing in wheelchair race, senior/young exhibiting their talent in the games including hockey (men and women), Kabaddi, wrestling, 200-m heat race (girls and boys), 800 m race (girls and boys), cycling, tug of war, long and high jump and others. 

Addressing the gathering, Sangowal said that sincere efforts were being undertaken by Punjab government to revive the sports so that more champions can be produced from every nook and corner of the state. He said that Punjab youth had been blessed with unmatched energy and zeal but they needed a right direction which had been ensured by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. He said that the government would be opening sports nurseries in the state to give a platform to the youths for exhibiting their talent. He said that in these Kila Raipur Rural Olympics, cash prizes worth Rs 30 lakh will be distributed among the winners. 

MLA said that on Wednesday, renowned Punjabi singer Amrit Mann will also mesmerize the spectators with his performance. 

Today, the district administration took orphans and nearby school children in the games and were provided free swings and food items. They enjoyed the games especially the motorcycle show.
