Hungama OTT is set to present a gripping social thriller with its upcoming original series Service Girl, premiering on 30th July 2026. Starring Khushi Dubey and Mallobika Banerjii in lead roles, the series delves into the alarming consequences of deepfake-enabled cybercrime and the devastating impact it can have on an ordinary person's life.
Service Girl follows the story of Divya, a simple housewife whose life is turned upside down when someone uses deepfake technology to create explicit fake content featuring her. As the fabricated videos spread rapidly, her reputation is destroyed, her relationships begin to crumble, and society refuses to believe her innocence. Left to fight alone against stigma, judgment, and digital manipulation, she embarks on a courageous journey to reclaim her identity, expose the truth, and prove that technology, when misused, can become a dangerous weapon.
Speaking about her role, she said, "I play the role of Divya, a simple girl who gets married at an early age whose life is turned upside down by cybercrime. Using deepfake technology, someone creates a fake, bold version of her, which damages her reputation in society. No one believes her when she says that it isn't really her. We often hear about such incidents in the news, and sadly, many young women have even taken their own lives because of these horrific cybercrimes. It is a very serious issue. This web series sheds light on this sensitive subject and shows how my character fights back and overcomes this ordeal."
Speaking about drawing inspiration for the character, she added, "I am from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, and I have seen many women like Divya in real life. That helped me understand the character better, from the way they wear a saree and do their makeup to their body language. The fact that this show revolves around a very serious, sensitive topic and features a performance-oriented role with a challenging character graph made it a great opportunity to bring the character to life through my lens on screen. I hope the audience enjoys the show and connects with its powerful message."
