Chandigarh, August 18, 2026: Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon today welcomed the appointment of Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Satish Poonia as the party's in-charge for Punjab, asserting that his organizational skills, strategic vision, and vast political experience would significantly benefit the state unit.
Dhillon expressed confidence that under Poonia's leadership, the state team would work cohesively to strengthen the party cadre at the grass-roots level. He noted that party workers were actively taking the policies of the BJP and the welfare schemes of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central Government to the masses. He reiterated the party's resolve to form the government in Punjab in the 2027 Assembly elections through strong organizational efforts.
Welcoming the inclusion of state leaders in the party's newly constituted national team, Dhillon extended his greetings to Saudan Singh on being appointed National Co General Secretary (Organisation), Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh on being named National Office In-charge and Maharashtra In-charge, and former Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal on his elevation as National Vice-President.
Dhillon remarked that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and National President Nitin Nabin, a highly experienced and effective team had been assembled. He added that the representation of Punjab leaders in the national executive is a matter of immense pride for the state unit.
