Samrala, October 19, 2026: A meeting was held today under the chairpersonship of the worthy SDM, Samrala, at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Samrala, with all Cluster Officers and Nodal Officers of Tehsil Samrala to review preparedness and ongoing activities for paddy stubble management during the current harvesting season.
Detailed discussions were held on stubble management practices, field-level monitoring, and awareness activities being undertaken to prevent paddy stubble burning. The officers were directed to intensify their outreach efforts, maintain close coordination at the cluster and village levels, and actively engage with farmers to promote sustainable alternatives to stubble burning.
The SDM advised all officers to ensure that awareness messages reach every farmer and to make concerted efforts towards reducing stubble-burning incidents. Farmers were also urged to adopt scientific crop-residue management practices and cooperate with the district administration in preventing stubble burning and protecting the environment.
