Ludhiana, August 9, 2025: Rupinder Singh Joint CP (City and Rural) Ldh has been elevated to the Indian Police Service (IPS). He had joined the Police department as probationary DSP on August, 1994. He served on various sensitive and important positions in the state. He served as DSP Sub-Division Kharar, Mohali, Dera Bassi, Sh. Fatehgarh Sahib and Sadar Ludhiana. After that, on promotion as a SP, he served as SP city Ludhiana, SP Traffic & Security Ludhiana, SSP Vigilance Range Jalandhar, SSP Vigilance Economic Wing Ludhiana, SSP Vigilance Range Ludhiana and Commandant-Cum-Deputy Director (Outdoor & Indoor) Punjab Police Academy Phillaur, DCP Headquarter Ludhiana, SSP Economic Offence Wing Vigilance Bureau Ludhiana.
In the year-2021, he has been awarded President Police Medal for Meritorious service during Covid Pandemic. He is at present President of Punjab Golf Association. Presently, he is posted as Joint Commissioner of Police, City and Rural Ludhiana.
He is grandson of Sh. Giani Zail Singh Ex-President of India.
