The event was graced by Colonel Viney Rana, Commanding Officer, 1st Battalion, The Naga Regiment (DRAS), whose distinguished presence left a lasting impression on the young minds.

Colonel Viney Rana, an alumnus of Sainik School Sujanpur Tira, the National Defence Academy, and the Indian Military Academy, shared insights from his illustrious career. He spoke about his service in Operation Rakshak in Kashmir, Operation Falcon in Arunachal Pradesh, Operation Snow Leopard in Eastern Ladakh, and his recent leadership of 1 NAGA along the Punjab border during Operation Sindoor.
The students were deeply moved by his words, which emphasized the Indian Army’s ethos of “Service Before Self.” Young lvyians actively participated in an interactive session, posing thoughtful questions about leadership, resilience and decision-making under pressure. Colonel Rana’s patient and inspiring responses gave them a rare glimpse into the life and values of a soldier.
