The Eco-Tourism Society of Government of Himachal Pradesh, in collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department, announces the initiation of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the selection of operators. This opportunity aims to design, develop, manage, and provide services for eco-tourism activities at 13 potential sites across the state.

Dharamsala, January 12, 2024: The Eco-Tourism Society of Government of Himachal Pradesh, in collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department, announces the initiation of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the selection of operators. This opportunity aims to design, develop, manage, and provide services for eco-tourism activities at 13 potential sites across the state.

Sanjeev Gandhi, a key member of the Eco-Tourism Society HP government, highlighted the initiative. He said here  that The Eco-Tourism Society of Himachal Pradesh, functioning under the aegis of the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department, envisions the development of eco-tourism across the state. The identified sites include Swar, Sourav Van Vihar, Neugal Park, and Bir-Billing in the Palampur Forest Division of Dharamshala Forest Circle. Additionally, sites like Near FRH Kaisdhar under Kullu Forest Division, Kasol, Khirganga, and Sumaropa under Parvati Forest Division, Shoja under Banjar Forest Division of Kullu Forest Circle, Narkanda under Kotgarh Forest Division of Rampur Forest Circle, Shoghi, Camping Site, and Potter Hill under Shimla Forest Division of Shimla, including Ganga Nal and Prashar Mandi falling under Mandi Forest Division.

Gandhi emphasized, “HPECOSOC under HPFD invites bids from interested and eligible bidders for the design, development, operation, management, provision of services, and maintenance of eco-tourism facilities & activities at these sites. The selected operators will have the opportunity for a ten-year contract, extendable by five years, subject to certain conditions."

This initiative not only seeks to unlock the untapped potential of Himachal Pradesh's natural beauty but also encourages sustainable tourism practices for the benefit of both visitors and the environment. Interested and capable bidders are encouraged to participate in this endeavor that aligns with the state's commitment to eco-friendly tourism.
