International Youth delegates Meet Senior BJP Leader Sanjay Tandon 

Chandigarh, July 22, 2026:  Senior BJP leader and party’s National Council Member Sanjay Tandon met with six  international delegates participating in the Lions International Youth Camps and Exchange Programme 2026. Tandon while interacting with the youth delegates emphasised the importance of cultural exchange and youth engagement  in building lasting global friendships. He also presented each of the delegates with copies of 'Sunrays' series of books authored by him and his wife Priya Tandon as a token of affection and goodwill.
Tandon said, “Books have the power to connect people across cultures and generations. I hope these stories become cherished memories of your visit to India and inspire you to carry forward the values of friendship, compassion and mutual respect. Such exchanges strengthen global understanding and remind us that despite our diverse backgrounds, we are one human family," said Tandon while addressing the young delegates.
The six participants, representing Italy, Turkey, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Brazil, met Tandon during their stay in Chandigarh under the Lions International Youth Camps and Exchange Programme, hosted by Lions Club Chandigarh Central.
During the interaction, Tandon enquired about their experiences of staying with Indian host families and visiting Chandigarh's iconic landmarks, particularly the UNESCO World Heritage Capitol Complex. Tandon appreciated the efforts of Lions International and Lions Club Chandigarh Central in promoting international goodwill, cultural understanding and youth leadership through such exchange initiatives. 
The delegates expressed deep appreciation for the warmth and hospitality extended by their Indian host families, describing the experience as enriching and memorable. They also praised Chandigarh's well-planned urban design and disciplined traffic management, observing that despite India's large population, the city's traffic system was remarkably organised and efficient. The delegate from the Netherlands was especially impressed by Chandigarh's extensive network of dedicated cycling tracks, calling it a cyclist-friendly city.
It is worth noting that the Exchange Programme is being coordinated by Lion Sanjeev Gupta, District Chairman, Youth Camps and Exchange Programme, with the support of a dedicated team of Leo volunteers including Leo Aarti (Camp Coordinator), Leo Rachit Jain, Leo Jegakashu Kochhar, Leo Ridul Gupta, Leo Rohit, Leo Mehak and Leo Yash.
