Gurugram, March 21, 2026: A two-day international conference was organized at Gurugram University on the theme “Emerging Trends in Health, Environment and Sustainability.” This conference is being held with the objective of promoting environmental protection, sustainable development, and a healthy lifestyle. More than 500 research scholars, faculty members, students, and leading officials from various fields from India and abroad have gathered on a single platform. Organized by the Department of Bio-Sciences, the conference received a total of 154 research papers, reflecting the growing global interest and awareness in this subject.

Haryana Cabinet Minister Rao Narbir Singh was present as the chief guest. Among the distinguished guests were Vice-Chancellor of DLC SUPVA Dr. Amit Arya, Vice-Chairman of Haryana State Higher Education Council Panchkula Prof. S.K. Gakhar, and Drug Controller Lalit Kumar Goyal. The program was presided over by the GU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Kaushik.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Kaushik said that the conference has been kept completely plastic-free. Digital banners, digital posters, and e-conference proceedings were used in the event. This initiative not only saves resources but also sends a strong message toward reducing environmental pollution. He said that various environmental institutions presented live and working models aimed at providing practical solutions for environmental protection.

Cabinet Minister Rao Narbir Singh, while appreciating the event, said that this plastic-free conference organized by Gurugram University using digital mediums is an inspiring example for other institutions. He said that young research scholars and students can become real agents of change for environmental protection if they translate their ideas into action. He added that today's research and innovations will be meaningful only when their benefits reach the common people.

Vice-Chancellor of DLC SUPVA, Dr. Amit Arya, said that such international conferences provide guidance not only through the exchange of ideas but also toward a better and safer future. He emphasized that the active participation of youth is extremely essential to make Haryana green and clean.

Distinguished guest Prof. S.K. Gakhar said that we all must together build a society where development is ensured along with respect for nature.

In his presidential address, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Kaushik said that in the present time, both health and environment are extremely important for human life. To achieve sustainable development, we must move forward together with innovation, research, and awareness. The conference convener Prof. Dhirendra Kaushik and co-convener Prof. Rani Devi along with Dean Prof. Bhupesh Sharma, Prof. Sanjeev Gupta, and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
