Department witnesses festive mood amidst Inter-University Declamation Contest celebrations

Inter-University Competitions held in Department of Sanskrit

Chandigarh March 13, 2024: Department of Sanskrit organized an Inter-university Declamation contest in which various competitions were organisedand students from Chandigarh, Haryana and Panjab participated in these competitions. Event was also attended by faculty, research scholars and students of deptt. of Sanskrit and Dayanand Chair for Vedic Studies, PU.

The program was presided over by Prof. J. P. Semwal, President’s award winner.Prof. V. K. Alankar welcomed prof. Semwal and all the Participants. He said, “every year we organise these competitions to encourage the students to employ and put to practice their knowledge of Sanskrit.

Dr. Vikram, Sandeep and Anshul Chaudhary played a special role as Judges.  Stage was managed by Dr. Bharadwaj, faculty member of the department. The winning students were honoured with mementos and certificates. At the end of the program, the Head of the Department thanked all the visitors.

Winners of the essay writing competition were; 1st prize Smriti, 2nd prize Anjali and 3rd prize Mamta. 

Winners of the declamation competition were; 1st prize Hitansh Arya, 2nd Sunil and 3rd Ashish.
