Informal launch of Hindi novel “Kharkiv Ke Khandhar” penned by Dr Ajay Sharma

Ludhiana, February 12, 2024: Newly written novel by famous Hindi novelist Dr. Ajay Sharma “Kharkiv Ke Khandhar” was informally released here.

During this very simple launch, Dr. Sharma presented copies of his book to the litterateurs present there and mentioned briefly about his book. He said there are a total of 9 characters in the novel. He said he has high expectations from his new novel. The response he has received so far from readers and critics is quite satisfactory, he said, adding that the theme of the novel is based on the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. The novel begins with a young Vasudev who has gone there for medical studies and is surrounded by the war situation. Due to the efforts of the Indian government, he and other youth like him came to India. The novel is written in a very dramatic and simple manner.

The litterateurs present there were of the opinion that it is a very difficult task to create the story of a novel with so few characters, carry it out and integrate it into the main story by adding other supporting stories. All the characters of the novel present their psychological conflicts and the poisons of war very well. Nowhere in the novel does it appear that this novel, written on the basis of so few characters, does not live up to its purpose and does not do justice to any of the characters. In the novel, all the characters have been given full space to express their views.

Tarsem Gujral said that the novel is based on Russia's attack on Ukraine and the destruction of mankind. The horror of the disaster has been accurately depicted in this novel.

Dilip Kumar Pandey said that this is a novel which talks beyond the present times. In the novel, emphasis has been laid on strengthening human relationships regarding the tragedy of war.

Manoj Dhiman said that the interesting thing is that Dr. Ajay Sharma never visited Russia or Ukraine, but a reader cannot guess this by reading the novel. It seems as if the novelist has written the novel after visiting the battlefield. Thus, there is no doubt in saying that the novel “Kharkiv Ke Khandhar” is another milestone in the literary field of Dr. Ajay Sharma.

Apart from others, Sanjeev Dawar, Vinod Kumar, Dr. Balwinder and Seema Bhatia were present on this occasion.

Dr Ajay Sharma has written 16 Hindi novels and 5 plays so far. Out of these, five of his novels are being taught in various courses in different universities including, Punjabi University, GNDU and LPU.
