Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA), in collaboration with the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST), successfully organized an insightful awareness program titled “Mission Life and the Role of School Children in the Management of Plastic Waste”. Chandigarh/ Mandi Gobindgarh, February 23, 2024: Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA), in collaboration with the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST), successfully organized an insightful awareness program titled “Mission Life and the Role of School Children in the Management of Plastic Waste”. The event took place at Government Senior Secondary School for Girls and Government Senior Secondary School for Boys in Mandi Gobindgarh, District Fatehgarh Sahib.


Attended by over 600 enthusiastic school children and dedicated teachers, the program aimed to shed light on crucial aspects of waste management, source segregation, and the cessation of Single-Use Plastics (SUPs) through the lens of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment).


Dr. Reena Chadha, General Manager of IPCA, delivered practical solutions to waste management challenges, inspiring the audience with actionable strategies. The event garnered support and funding from the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST) and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEF & CC) under Mission LiFE.


Distinguished educationists including Foran Chand, Roshan Sood, Director (Retd.) SCERT, Gurdeep Singh, Principal (GSSS Boys), Monika, Principal (GSSS Girls), Meenakshi Sharma, Eco Club teacher, and Ashok Kumar, Music Teacher, lent their invaluable support to the cause.


The program featured a dynamic blend of lectures, interactive Q&A sessions, engaging games, hands-on practical activities, uplifting songs, captivating dances, enlightening movies, and various other interactive elements.

In continuation of its commitment to environmental education, IPCA is set to organize 16 similar awareness programs in educational institutions across Rupnagar, SBS Nagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Sangrur, fostering a culture of sustainability and responsible waste management among the youth.
