India has left major global economies behind, clocked faster growth: Kewal Singh Dhillon

Chandigarh, September 3, 2026: Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon today attributed India’s robust economic performance to the “competent, visionary and decisive leadership” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that at a time when several major economies were facing economic challenges, India continued to remain on a strong growth trajectory.
Dhillon said India’s GDP growth of 7.8 per cent in the first quarter was a clear indication of the resilience and dynamism of the Indian economy. He said India’s growth rate, compared with that of other major global economies, showed that the country was emerging as one of the key engines of global economic growth.
He said the 12.1 per cent growth in the IT and financial services sector, 9.2 per cent growth in manufacturing and 11.9 per cent rise in investment and infrastructure reflected the impact of the Modi government’s policies aimed at promoting industry, investment and infrastructure development.
The BJP state president said a 7.1 per cent rise in domestic consumption and 12 per cent growth in exports highlighted the strength of domestic demand as well as India’s expanding footprint in global markets. He said the Indian economy was not merely becoming more self-reliant but was also strengthening its influence in the global economic landscape.
Dhillon said the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ articulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was steadily translating into a strong national development trajectory. A robust economy, modern infrastructure, rising industrial production, digital transformation and expanding opportunities for the youth were the key pillars of this journey, he added.
He said India’s confidence and global influence had continued to grow under the Modi government. The country’s strong economic performance demonstrated that with sound policies, decisive leadership and people’s participation, India could achieve the goal of becoming a fully developed and self-reliant nation by 2047.
