He said that he deeply appreciates the inspiring goal set by both leaders to achieve 50 billion USD in bilateral trade by 2030. This ambitious target can almost double existing trade levels and open vast economic opportunities for millions of people across both nations.

Grewal said that this positive shift did not come without challenges. Certain fringe groups and divisive elements attempted to derail the partnership for their own narrow agendas. Yet the Government of Canada under Prime Minister Mark Joseph Carney moved forward with clarity confidence and courage choosing progress over provocation and unity over disruption. Restarting CEPA talks is a conscious and determined step to rebuild trust restore stability and strengthen a mutually beneficial partnership.

He said that the new CEPA framework is truly transformative covering goods services investments agriculture digital trade labour mobility and sustainable development. Both Prime Ministers have also expressed strong intent to expand cooperation in defence space civil nuclear energy and long term uranium supply.
