IMPunjab strengthens Startup Community in Patiala

Patiala, September 9, 2022: Innovation Mission Punjab, a unique private-public partnership that aims to build, empower and act as a catalyst for local startup communities in Punjab held Startup Day in Patiala calling upon Startups and entrepreneurs with ideas. IMPunjab aims to lenda  hand to the new startups and entrepreneurs in Punjab by helping them meet and communicate with other youngpreneurs and stakeholders of their industry and create opportunities for their startups to grow further.
 
The aim of the Startup Day in Patiala was to create regional access to mentorship for the startup community in the region. The platform also offers  support in ideation, development and growth acceleration of start-ups. The participants at Startup Day were able to get feedback and validation for their idea, possible match with the right incubator and also recieve guidance from the entrepreneurial ecosystem by connecting with global mentors and advisors at IMPunjab. This also marks the start of their entrepreneurial journey with the Mission.
 
Talking about the event, Abhishek Purohit, Head - Accelerator, Innovation Mission Punjab, said, “IMPunjabhas received 50% of the registrations from homepreneurs that are keen to get support for their startups. Patiala became an integral part of the startup day plan, as 10% of startup registrations are coming from Patiala. There were registrations from industries like food, waste management, tech and manufacturing among many others. Out of these, 30% were women entrepreneurs, which is significantly more entries since the last time.” 
 
The jury panel at Startup Day Patiala consisted of industry experts and a mix of regional entrepreneurs and startup enablers from the region including Jai Narayan (Patiala Chamber of Commerce), Dr Karminder Ghuman( Chief Coordinator, STEP, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology ), Jatinder Sandhu (Patiala Chamber of Commerce). Chetan Singla ( Co-founder, of Aadhar India-PashuPal) and Harinder P S Lamba ( Cheif Visionary at Wheafree ) were the key inspirational speakers at the event.
 
Patiala marks the Fifth edition of Startup day. In the last fivemonths, 250+ startups have onboarded themselves with the mission. After the launch of Accelerator in Mohali by Hon. CM Shri Bhagwant Mann, a number of new-age startups are now becoming a part IMPunjab’s Mission.
