Importance of voters in Democracy organized in Doaba Collegeiate

Jalandhar, February 7, 2022: DC Collegiate Senior Secondary School under Doaba College, Jalandhar organized extension lecture on the topic ‘Importance of voters in Democracy’ to create voter awareness among young students of 10+1 and 10+ 2.  Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari motivated students to uphold the democratic traditions of the country and to vote in election fearlessly and regardless of the considerations of religion, race, caste, community and language.
Extension lecture was delivered by Dr. Vinay Girotra, Head-Political Science Department. He urged the students and faculty members to contribute to the nation-building process with their votes. He emphasized on the role of voting as an agent of change and as a token of respect for our freedom fighters as well as constitution makers. Dr. Girotra stressed on the need of informed participation in the elections. 
Prof. Arvind Nanda- School Incharge and Prof. Jaspreet Badhan convened and conducted the programme. Students were made aware of the new applications launched by Election Commission for the purpose of voter education and awareness like Voter Helpline App; know your Candidate App and cVigil App.
