IKGPTU Mechanical Department celebrated Fresher's Day

Jalandhar/Kapurthala, May 27, 2022: The 2nd-year students of I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University 's Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a fresher's party for the 1st-year students at the Seminar Hall main campus. The program started with the floral welcome of the chief guests, Dr. Neelkanth Grover, Dean (Student Welfare), and Dr. Vikas Chawla, Dean (Academics), by Dr. Deepak Kumar Goyal, Head of Department. Event was followed by lamp lighting and a welcome address.

In his welcome speech, Dean Academic Prof. (Dr.) Chawla expressed the importance of academics, while Dr. Grover lit up the importance of sports and cultural activities in student’s lives. In his welcome address, Dr. Goyal wished the freshers many blessings and encouraged them to participate in various co-curricular activities along with the academics to make their four years at the campus the best ones. The Freshers showcased their talents through a stunning ramp walk, songs, poetries, and dance performances like Solo, Duo, and Group Dances. The program followed up the screening of Mr. and Miss. Freshers, 2022. These three rounds of the selection process nominated Mr. Prabhash Chandra and Miss. Samriddhi Srivastava as Mr. and Miss. Freshers, respectively.

Apart from this, Mr. Rattan Sarkar was nominated as Mr. Talented and Mr. Anmol Sharma as Mr. Handsome. The event concluded with a group photograph of the whole department, followed by a joyful open DJ.
