IKGPTU CSE Dept. organized Two-Days Bootcamp on Mobile Forensics

Jalandhar/Kapurthala, February 25, 2025: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Main Campus, I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), Jalandhar-Kapurthala organized two days Bootcamp on Mobile Forensics from February 24-25, 2025, under the Project Information Security Education and Awareness phase-III sponsored by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Susheel Mittal inaugurated this camp as chief guest. Vc Prof Dr Mittal further underscored the importance of cybersecurity education during his speech. Registrar Dr S K Misra sent his best wishes to the organizers through a message. This Bootcamp was organized under the coordinatorship of Dr. Monika Sachdeva, Director, IKGPTU Mohali campus and Dr Rajeev Bedi, Head, Department of CSE.

The event focused on mobile data forensics, malware analysis, and legal reporting, with expert sessions by Mr. Ashish Sutar, Cyber Security Officer at ISAC. The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Monika Sachdeva, Programme Coordinator, highlighting the significance of the Bootcamp. Dr. Satvir Singh, Dean Student Welfare emphasized the rising cybersecurity challenges, citing real-world incidents, while Dr. Yadwinder Brar, Dean Research & Development for promoting forensic research at the university.

The Bootcamp saw enthusiastic participation from UG and PG students, offering hands-on training in mobile forensic investigations. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Rajeev Bedi, Head of Department CSE, recognizing the efforts of the organizers and participants. This initiative reinforces IKGPTU’s commitment to digital forensics and cybersecurity research, preparing students for future challenges in the field.
