After two years at IKGPTU Students can join University of Frazer Valley, Canada

Jalandhar/Kapurthala, July 13, 2018: Considering the rising trend among students for foreign degrees I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Jalandhar signed an agreement with University of the Fraser Valley(UFV) located at British Columbia, Canada. The University is one of the renowned Universities in Canadian Higher Education system. The agreement between both the Universities has brought an excellent opportunity to students to pursue their higher studies in Canada. Now the students of IKGPTU in Course BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) after completing first two years in IKG PTU system can join Bachelor of Computer Information System (BCIS) course at University of Fraser Valley, Canada under pathway program. After successfully completing the course requirements in two years at University of the Frazer Valley students shall be award degree of BCIS by the Canadian University.

Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor IKG PTU congratulates University's team who done this successfully. VC Prof.(Dr.) Sharma said that this joint programme with UFV is a part of University’s International collaborations which has been started for students who desire to pursue higher studies abroad. This joint programme shall reduce the financial burden on parents who wants to send their wards to abroad for studies, as first two years of the course shall be in India & two in Canada. On completion of the course student shall get a Canadian degree.

Dr. N P Singh, Dean-Planning & External Programmes shared that University has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Tribhuvan University, Nepal also to augment the academic relations between both the countries. Under this MoU faculty and student exchange programme shall be started soon & students from Tribhuvan University can come to IKGPTU for training and joint research projects.

He further added that having a foreign degree is the dream of many young students in State. University is making continuous efforts to enable the students so that they may realize their dreams. University is engaging with many national and international educational institutions to provide world class exposure to its students.
