Jalandhar, May 3, 2025: The I‑Social Club of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, instituted under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative, organized a Group Discussion on “Fields in Flux: Uttar Pradesh’s Agrarian Reality”.

The event aimed to cultivate a nuanced understanding of Uttar Pradesh’s evolving agricultural landscape, spotlighting its Green Revolution heritage, contemporary challenges such as land fragmentation and groundwater depletion, and the promise of digital farming and sustainable practices.

Students from across varied streams lent their voices to the discussion. They elaborated on the uneven spread of canal irrigation, the perils of aquifer over‑extraction, and the uneven reach of mechanization.

The activity fostered analytical thinking, encouraged diverse perspectives, and enhanced communication skills by prompting students to articulate informed opinions and listen actively.

President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee members, and Principal Dr Pooja Prashar lauded the I‑Social Club and its Nodal Officer, Aabroo Sharma, for organising an activity vested in awareness of rural realities and in nurturing a sense of responsibility toward sustainable agricultural development.
