Hydration, protection and simple care: Sony SAB artists share their summer skincare tips

Summer brings bright days, rising temperatures, and the need to pay a little extra attention to skincare. For actors who spend long hours under strong lights and on outdoor sets, keeping their skin fresh and protected becomes an important part of their daily routine.
While everyone has their own way of dealing with the heat, many artists follow certain skincare habits that help them stay comfortable throughout the season. From staying hydrated and protecting their skin from the sun to following small but consistent routines, these practices often become essential during the warmer months.
This summer, Sony SAB artists Shrenu Parikh, Deeksha Joshi, Akshhaya Hindalkar, Rishi Saxena and Nitin Babu share the skincare tips and personal habits they rely on to keep their skin feeling refreshed and cared for, even during the busiest shooting schedules.
Akshaya Hindalkar, playing Rashi Patel in Pushpa Impossible, shares, “During the hotter months I try to keep things very simple. I drink a lot of water and recently I’ve started having basil seeds in water as well. Because of shooting, sunscreen is something I never skip. I also carry an umbrella whenever I step out in the sun and try to avoid going out in the afternoon if I can help it. Honestly, it’s just small habits like cnsuming enough water and electrolytes and even taking two quick showers during the day to feel fresh that help me get through the heat and keeps my skin healthy.”
Nitin Babu, playing Chirag in Pushpa Impossible, shares, “As actors, our skin goes through a lot of long hours under lights, layers of makeup, and sometimes even travel in between shoots. The heat only adds to it. Over time I’ve realised that keeping things simple works best for me. I start the day with gentle cleansing, follow it up with moisturizer, and sunscreen is something I never skip before stepping out for work. At the end of the day, removing all the added layers, dirt from the pollution properly without fail is just as important. It’s really about staying consistent with the basics, especially when you’re spending most of your time on set.”
Shrenu Parikh, playing Goddess Parvati in Ganesh Kartikey, shares, “During the hotter months I like keeping my skincare routine light and uncomplicated. With the heat and long hours of makeup during shoots, I feel it’s important to focus on drinking more water and not skipping sunscreen when stepping out. I also make it a point to cleanse my skin properly and let it breathe whenever I get the chance, especially after a long day on set. Over time I’ve realised that when you keep things simple and consistent, your skin responds much better than when you overload it with too many products.”
Deeksha Joshi, playing Deepti in Pushpa Impossible, shares, “I think the most important thing during summer is drinking more water, both for the body and the skin. We often feel the need to keep applying products, but I also believe the skin needs to breathe sometimes. It’s okay to keep the routine simple and not overload it with too many serums or moisturizers. Something I personally enjoy is icing the face, it feels very refreshing, especially after a long day.”
Rishi Saxena, playing Sanjay in Itti Si khushi, shares, “My skincare routine is actually very simple, and it doesn’t change much even during summer. I start the day with a few splashes of cold water, which instantly wakes the skin up. After that I stick to the basics like Vitamin C serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen. I prefer keeping it uncomplicated because consistency works best for me”
