Hyderabad, June 12, 2022: Hyderabad Runners conducted their 4th edition of Outdoor kids Summer Camp, with over 600 kids at Telangana State Forest Dept Training Academy Dulapally. ChildRUN is the Graduation Run and conclusion of a 8weeks Outdoor Kids Summer Program. Nearly 300+ parents joined for this Graduation Run with lot of fun activities & family bonding time. The ChildRUN is organized by Hyderabad Runners & supported by Telangana Forest Department.

ReaCH, powered and supported by Hyderabad Runners stands for Recreation and Child Health. ReaCH is a social initiative that emphasises the need to educate and sensitise children and adults about the importance of physical activity from an early age. ChildRUN is a school-based programme that promotes running and finding effective ways to get children and young adults stay active.

In the age of rapid urbanisation, environmental factors such as pollution, traffic, lack of playgrounds and public parks, a fast-paced life with poor eating habits and calorie dense foods without adequate nutrition, television, gaming and the Internet that cause sedentary lifestyles, are some of the many reasons why children today are physically inactive. There is enough evidence to prove physical activity among children improves their overall health and wellbeing and also reinforces positive thinking, teamwork and ability to concentrate at school. With the help of community-informed expertise and knowledge, ReaCH plans to create and implement sustainable programmes for healthy and active children.

Outdoor Kids is an out-of-school programme that introduces running as a form of physical activity in a structured fashion among children. It is a volunteer driven initiative that aims to improve learning and health through community involvement, family engagement, and creating a conducive environment for children to stay physically active.
