Ludhiana: Hospitality Olympics 2020, a conglomeration of 8 different competitive events judging the professional skills of the budding hoteliers. The event began with a great spark in the eyes of the competitors participating from 6 different colleges including, IHM Gurdaspur, GNA University, CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur, Gujrawala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology, Krystal Cooking, Gulzar Group of Institutes etc.

The occasion was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest Mr. Sudesh Kumar Drall, Commanding officer (ITBP), the event was also embraced by the presence of some great professionals from the Hotel Industry namely Chef Nellu Kaura, Chef Hitesh arora, and Chef Vishwadeep Bali.

The Professionals from the hospitality industry appreciates the efforts taken by the college in creating such a huge platform for the budding hospitality professions.

The event witnessed huge competition from the students where the overall winner of the entire event were students from IHM Gurdaspur. In Young Master Chef Competition first position was grabbed by IHM Gurdaspur. In Mocktail Competition, GNA University bagged the first position. In Fold the Unfold, IHM Gurdaspur won the first position. In the Dust Bunny Competition, the First Position was bagged by GNA University. In Remember the Rose, the First Position was bagged by IHM Gurdaspur. In ExplorIndia, the First Position was bagged by IHM Gurdaspur. In the Globetrotter, the First Position was bagged by IHM Gurdaspur and in Trayrathon, the First Position was bagged by GNA University

Prof. Anirban Gupta, Dean, PCTE - IHM said “I am impressed to see the amount of creativity that today’s generation holds. He further praised the efforts made by the students from other colleges to come and to participate in the event and added that the main motive for conducting events like this enhances the skills of our students and give them practical exposure to what they study.

Dr. K.N.S.Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes congratulated the winners of the event and the IHM faculty along with the students for successfully hosting the event. He further added by saying that it isn’t about winning or losing, but it’s about participating, learning and cherishing the everlasting memories that they have created during the event.(Jan 29)
