Home Science College organises talk on health and wellness practices among young girls

Chandigarh, October 18, 2022: The Placement cell of Govt. Home Science College Sec 10 Chandigarh organized a talk on  Health & Wellness practices among young girls in collaboration with Nestle on Wednesday. Shivali, an alumna of the college and nutrition expert at Nestle, delivered the talk. She gave an in-depth insight into the vital role played by various nutrients in our body.

The nutrition expert talked about nutrient classification dividing them into 2 categories; the macro and micronutrients and their requirements in a healthy body. She also described the need for calorie intake and natural sources of various nutrients. While concluding, she discussed the importance of reading of food labels given on the packet of every food product. All the Students attended this seminar with full concentration and discipline. They learned many new things which they can take care of and crucial for living a healthy & happy life.

Principal Prof. Sudha Katyal encouraged the participants for taking a healthy step in their lives and expressed her gratitude to Nestle for creating awareness of nutrition and health among students.
