Home Science College celebrates eco-friendly Diwali

Chandigarh: Government Home Science College in collaboration with Yuva Satta NGO organised a Green Diwali Awareness Campaign. NSS volunteers of the college participated enthusiastically in the rally at Sukhna Lake holding colourful posters displaying a slogan ‘Say No To Crackers’. They also distributed ‘Stop Covid-19’Masks and sanitizers to the general public. This noble activity was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration. As the festival of Diwali is approaching, NSS volunteers also sensitized and motivated the masses to do their bit in making the environment clean and green by celebrating ‘Green Diwali’ and avoiding bursting of crackers.

Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal of the college, applauded the efforts of NSS Volunteers and also urged everyone to celebrate Deepawali at their homes safely with sweets and diyas instead of bursting of crackers
