High-Speed Math Showdown: SIP Punjab Prodigy Contestants Tackled 325 Sums in 11 Minutes

Chandigarh, October 12, 2025: The ultimate test of mental agility was held this Sunday in the Tricity, where hundreds of young minds took part in the SIP Punjab Prodigy 2025 competition. The highlight of the event was a breathtaking challenge in which advanced-level students attempted to solve 325 arithmetic sums in just 11 minutes — pushing the limits of focus, speed, and cognitive endurance.

The 13th Punjab SIP Abacus & Mental Arithmetic Competition brought together more than 1,250 students aged 7 to 14 from across Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and the Chandigarh Tricity region. The competition is a flagship event for SIP Abacus in the region, which serves families through its 25+ learning centers.

The event was graced by Professor Jatinder Grover, Former DSW and Former Dean, Faculty of Education, Panjab University, who served as Chief Guest. Commending the young participants, Prof. Grover praised their concentration and dedication, urging them to continue learning with discipline, curiosity, and enthusiasm.

Jagdeep Singh, State Head – SIP Punjab, presided over the event and remarked, “The SIP Abacus Punjab Prodigy is more than a contest — it’s a celebration of skill and perseverance. Watching children solve hundreds of sums in minutes reminds us how powerful structured brain training can be. This may truly be Punjab’s fastest mental maths challenge.”

He added, “Every bead moved on the abacus represents hours of dedication and belief. SIP Punjab Prodigy is not just about competition; it’s about celebrating the journey of children who learn, practice, and transform themselves through focus and joy.”

The day also celebrated the achievements of 80 graduating students from SIP Abacus Centres across the state, recognized for completing the Grand Masters program levels — a milestone symbolizing consistency, confidence, and the SIP spirit of continuous growth.

The competition concluded with an inspiring awards ceremony, where proud parents and teachers applauded the young champions. The lively celebration reaffirmed SIP’s mission of ‘Making Children 5 Times Better’ — not only in academics but also in confidence, discipline, and life skills.
