Gurugram University's “Great Women Achievers Award” recognizes exceptional women in Education, Sports, and Social Service

On the occasion of International Women's Day, ‘Nari Samman Divas’ program was organized by the Student Welfare Department of Gurugram University, Gurugram. On this occasion, women who have done outstanding work in the fields of sports, education, and social service were honored and their contributions were appreciated.

Gurugram, March 10, 2026: On the occasion of International Women's Day, ‘Nari Samman Divas’ program was organized by the Student Welfare Department of Gurugram University, Gurugram. On this occasion, women who have done outstanding work in the fields of sports, education, and social service were honored and their contributions were appreciated.

The program was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Kaushik. The chief guest was Dr. Shobha Vijender (Founder and Chairperson of Sampoorna NGO). The special guest, national para shooter Madhavi Hans, enhanced the dignity of the program with her presence. Special invitees included Dr. Kusum Malik (Founder of Zero Dropout Mission), and Commonwealth Judo Champion Suchika Huda.

In the beginning, the program convener Dr. Amarjeet Kaur delivered the welcome address. Madhavi Hans, Dr. Shobha Vijender, Dr. Kusum Malik, and Suchika Huda were honored with the “Great Women Achievers Award” for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Kaushik in his address said that the role of women in every field of society is continuously becoming stronger. He said that women are reaching new heights in fields like education, sports, and social service, and are becoming an inspiration for society. The university is constantly striving to promote women's empowerment through such events.

Chief guest Dr. Shobha Vijender, in her address, said that women's empowerment is not just an idea but the foundation of the overall development of society. She urged the youth to become sensitive towards respecting women and providing them equal opportunities. National para shooter Madhavi Hans gave an inspiring speech by citing examples from her personal life, saying that difficult circumstances do not weaken us but make us even stronger. A large number of faculty members, students, and distinguished guests present on the occasion took a pledge to carry forward the message of women's empowerment.
