Guru Kashi University Inks MoU with National Seed Corporation

Talwandi Sabo, April 24, 2015: Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo inked memoranda of understanding with National Seed Corporation New Delhi. Dr.N.S.Malhi, Vice Chancellor signed this document on behalf of Guru Kashi University and V.K. Gaur, CMD, National Seed Corporation on behalf of National Seed Corporation. 

Dr.N.S.Malhi Vice Chancellor of Guru Kashi University, who is key force behind signing of this MoU, termed this as a historic event and explained the background of understanding with National Seed Corporation and usefulness of this collaboration especially for practical training of the outgoing B.Sc. (Agriculture) students on Seed Production, Seed Processing, grading and packaging, etc. He further said that this understanding will go a long way for skill development for agriculture graduates. Guru Kashi University is the first university to sign MoU with National Seed Corporation. V.K. Gaur, CMD, National Seed Corporation also spoke on the occasion and said that further NSC will also impart training in Agriculture engineering and vegetable and fruit sciences. He explained that such training will help students while obtaining jobs in Seed Industry particularly multinational companies. The collaboration of research projects can also be undertaken. A.K. Gildyal, Deputy General Manager (Vigilance) and training National Seed Corporation and Deepak Rastogi, DGM (Agril.Engg.) were present on the occasion. This function of signing of MoU and exchange of MoU was attended by all the Deans and Directors, Deputy Registrar and other officers of Guru Kashi University. Prof. Sukhdevinder Singh Kaurra, Public Relation Officer of GKU assisted the whole programme. Dr. A.S. Sidhu Dean University College of Agriculture proposed vote of thanks.
