Gurmat Samagam "Sakhiyo Saheldiyo" Dedicated to International Women's Day Organized

Ludhiana, March 8, 2026: Women who connect the congregation with the concepts of service (Seva) and meditation (Simran) bestowed by the Sikh Gurus, and who dedicate their constructive vision to humanitarian causes, serve as a beacon of light for the nation and society. These views were expressed by the renowned Sikh scholar and personality, Giani Pinderpal Singh, while sharing his thoughts with the large gathering of devotees, ladies' satsang groups, and prominent personalities today at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Model Town Extension. In his impactful address, he stated that the role of women is pivotal in the progress of any country or nation. Specifically, the Sikh Gurus initiated the task of granting women equal status to men and treating them with complete respect. It is due to this legacy that the services of the Sikh Guru-Mothers and sisters who brought glory to the community's name are held in the highest regard. Furthermore, in the present era, women who uphold the thoughts and principles of the Gurus serve as a source of inspiration for us all. During the event, he described the "Sakhiyo Saheldiyo" Samagam as a commendable and educational initiative. He noted that the efforts made by Mata Vipanpreet Kaur to connect the congregation and women with the concepts of service and meditation are exemplary in themselves. Specifically, her initiative to honor distinguished women from various fields for their selfless service will prove helpful in further intensifying the movement of Seva and Simran.
Earlier, during the Samagam, the Kirtani Jathas of the ladies' satsang groups enthralled the congregation with the blissful strains of Gurbani. Additionally, great preachers of the Panth, including Sant Baba Amir Singh (Jawaddi Taksal), Pritpal Singh (Member, Dharma Parchar Committee), Bhai Amarjit Singh Chawla (Member, SGPC), and Bhai Major Singh Khalsa (President, International Sikh Federation), along with several prominent personalities, marked their presence and shared research-based insights on the significance of the respect bestowed upon women by the Gurus.
During this event, inspired by Mata Vipanpreet Kaur and with the warm cooperation of Inderjit Singh Makkar (President, Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Model Town) and Rajwant Singh Vohra (Fateh Parivar), the heirs of Mai Bhago—women who have brought pride to the nation and provided invaluable services to society—were specially honored. These included Bibi Paramjit Kaur "Pamma Bhain Ji" (Amritsar), Bibi Charanjit Kaur (Mother of Bhai Gursharan Singh), Bibi Rajinder Kaur (Prabh Asra, Kurali), and Principal Darshpreet Kaur (Guru Nanak Public School). They were presented with commemorative awards specially prepared in the names of various prominent Sikh Guru-Mothers and historical figures.
At the conclusion of the Samagam, Mata Vipanpreet Kaur expressed her gratitude to all the honored women, religious personalities, ladies' satsang groups, and the congregation.
