Grant & incentive funds to be given under Nand Baba Milk Mission in UP

Lucknow, June 24 (HS): In order to boost indigenous cow breeding and increase cow herders' income, the Yogi government has decided to award a grant of Rs 40,000 for the procurement of indigenous cows from other states under the Nand Baba Milk Mission. Cow herders who acquire Sahiwal, Tharparkar, and Gir cows from other states would receive a rebate on the amount spent on other commodities such as transportation, transit insurance, and animal insurance, according to the government's proposal. Cow herders would be eligible for this payment if they acquire a maximum of two indigenous breeds of cows. Similarly, under the Mukhyamantri Pragatisheel Pashupalak Protsahan Yojana, the Yogi government would provide incentives to indigenous breed cow herders. This incentive will also be granted on a maximum of two indigenous breed cows.

Shashi Bhushan Lal Sushil, Milk Commissioner and Mission Director, stated that as part of the Nand Baba Mission, various transportation issues have been resolved in order to purchase cows of indigenous breeds such as Sahiwal from Punjab, Tharpark from Rajasthan, and Gir from Gujarat. "A grant of 40% of total expenditure, up to Rs. 40,000 per cow, will be given for items." This sum will be paid to a 'gau palak' (cow rearer) to cover transportation costs, transit insurance and animal insurance for three years while importing cows from other states to this state." He stated that a grant amount will be offered to state cattle producers or cow rearers who acquire a maximum of two indigenous varieties of cows.

The raising of indigenous breeds would be rewarded with Rs 15,000 per cow. Similarly, the Yogi government is offering Rs 10-15 thousand in incentives to dairy farmers in the state for raising indigenous cows of advanced breed and high output for the Mukhyamantri Pragatisheel Pashupalak Protsahan Yojana. Dairy producers would be awarded Rs 10-15 thousand as an incentive payment for local breed Sahiwal, Gir, Haryana, Gangatiri, and Tharpark cows under this scheme. The Yogi administration would provide this amount to a dairy farmer for up to two cows. This sum is split into two installments each. Cows in Sahiwal, Gir, and Tharpark will be paid Rs 10,000 for producing 8 to 12 kg of milk each day, and Rs 15,000 for producing more than 12 kg. A Haryana cow, on the other hand, will receive Rs 10,000 for producing 6 to 10 kg of milk per day and Rs 15,000 for producing more than 10 kg of milk. Aside from that, Rs 10,000 would be provided for Gangatiri cows generating 6 to 8 kg of milk per day and Rs 15,000 for producing more than eight kg of milk.
