Jalandhar, September 15, 2023:  'Grand Parents Day' was celebrated in Innokids, The Pre- Primary School of  all the five schools of Innocent Hearts  ( Green Model Town, Loharan, Cantt.- Jandiala Road, Nurpur Road and Kapurthala Road)  under the theme ' The Greatest Blessing - Grand Pa and Grand Ma', in which the grandparents of the children were specially invited by the school management.

In Innokids, Green Model Town, Special guests were   Vani Vij ( MD at Chinar Forge Limited and Sheetal Fiber Limited) and  K. K. Sareen renowned CA . On this occasion, a colorful cultural program was presented for the grandparents, in which grandparents danced to old songs.  Looking at them, it seemed as if their old days had returned again.  The school management has organized various games for them like Kanche (Marbles), Lattu (Spinning Top), Gilli Danda (Tip-Cat), Pithu Garam (Seven Stones), Tik-Tac-Tok, Skipping Rope, Pacheta (Pabbles) and Ludo.   The children looked very happy playing traditional games with them in the school itself.  They taught many things to children through their experience.  On this occasion, giving a glimpse of the Golden Era, an exhibition was organized of the things lying on grandmother's terrace, in which old black and white TV, transistor, radio, mortar, chati madani, pakkhi, chhikku, chhaj, silbatta etc. were kept. Apart from this, grandmother's home remedies were also told about how she used kitchen items to keep the body healthy.

While the school management tried to reduce the generation gap by inviting grandparents in this program, it also gave them a few hours of unique happy moments.

Deputy Director Cultural Affairs, Mrs. Sharmila Nakra said that along with parents, grandparents also play an important role in the upbringing of children.  Only the grandparents can nurture these little kids  with th values because they have an emotional relationship with the children.  Through such events, along with educating the children, we not only inculcate good values in them but also inculcate in them a sense of respect for their elders.
