Bengaluru, June 27, 2025: As India fast-tracks its journey to becoming a global hub for manufacturing and logistics, Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG) is at the forefront of this transformation. Through its intralogistics businesses, Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and Storage Solutions, GEG is delivering automated logistics systems powered by IoT, automation, and AI, redefining operational boundaries in modern warehouses and factories.
As a market leader in the intralogistics sector, GEG has been aggressively investing in R&D and innovation to make manufacturing processes and products more sustainable. As market leaders with an average market share of 20–25% over the past three years in the Storage Solutions and Material Handling space, and is well-positioned to lead India’s transition to a greener logistics ecosystem. Around 85% of the domestic procurement value for its intralogistics business is sourced locally, reinforcing its commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat and sustainability across the value chain.
Through strategic investments in indigenous product development, safety innovation, precision engineering, and sustainable technologies, GEG is not only modernizing warehouses and factory floors, but also building a logistics ecosystem that is agile, efficient, and future-ready.
“Our work in intralogistics goes far beyond internal optimization, it’s about enabling a logistics sector that is more robust and future-ready,” said Vikas Choudaha, Business Head, Storage Solutions Business, GEG. “We’re helping 3PLs, quick commerce players, and other large manufacturers create warehouse ecosystems that cut operating costs and accelerate delivery timelines. Today, there’s a touch of Godrej in every third delivery you receive at home.”
Anil Lingayat, Business Head, Material Handling Equipment, GEG, added, “Efficient logistics starts inside the warehouse. Every second saved compounds across the supply chain. Our sustainable, digital-first solutions, from electric & lithium-ion forklifts to telematics-enabled, automated racking platforms, are driving ecosystem-wide efficiency upgrades. MHE is preparing to launch IoT solutions on forklifts in July. At GEG, we’re scaling our manufacturing and R&D capabilities to meet the rising demand for agile, high-performance logistics infrastructure.”
GEG’s intralogistics arm is empowering high-growth sectors such as e-commerce, consumer durables, FMCG, cold chain logistics, quick commerce, and retail, among others, with sustainable, scalable, and tech-driven solutions. In alignment with the National Logistics Policy, GEG is advancing green logistics, cost optimization, and digital integration across its operations.
Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG) reinforces its commitment to sustainability through its Storage Solutions facility in Chennai, which leads in green manufacturing with 3x water positivity, signatory to EP100, and a 30% cut in carbon emissions via piped natural gas. The facility has real-time monitoring of energy and water usage and is in a path towards attaining the goal of zero waste to landfill. On the product side, GEG’s intralogistics innovations are transforming warehouse operations nationwide, with RoHS-compliant raw materials like steel and powder. Sustainable practices have doubled energy productivity and slashed specific energy consumption by 60%.
Meanwhile, the MHE division has embedded sustainability across its Vikhroli (Mumbai) operations, with notable gains in energy productivity, carbon footprint reduction, and adoption of renewable energy and water conservation practices. Meanwhile, as pioneers of electric forklifts in India, the MHE division recently introduced the country’s first lithium-ion battery-powered forklift, equipped with an indigenously developed Battery Management System (BMS) that enhances performance, safety, and battery life in demanding Indian conditions. With over 82% of its portfolio comprising electric forklift trucks, the division continues to lead the shift towards smart, sustainable logistics reinforcing its commitment to building a greener, more efficient future for India.
India’s logistics costs currently account for 14–18% of GDP, with a national goal to bring this down to single digits. As India moves toward single-digit logistics costs, GEG stands ready to lead the charge, building a logistics ecosystem that is agile, intelligent, and sustainable.
