GNA University organised virtual “National Nutrition Week 2020”

Jalandhar: The Faculty of Hospitality, GNA University organized a Virtual “National Nutrition Week”, 2020 by all the students and the staff under the theme of “Eat, Right, Bite by Bite". The sole objective of this Event was to render awareness to the current generation on the importance of nutrition for health which has an impact on development, productivity, economic growth and ultimately national development.

The commencement of the National Nutrition Week 2020 was done with the Inauguration ceremony by Lamp lighting done by the Pro-Chancellor S Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the Vice-Chancellor Dr. V.K Rattan, Dean Academics, Dr.Monika Hanspal, Registrar, Mr. R.K Mahajan, HOD, Chef Dhiraj Pathak and members of Faculty of Hospitality. The Event was celebrated in the gracious presence of the Guest Speaker Dietitian Payal Aggarwal (Food fitness) on Diabetes.

After the session, various Virtual activities were performed by the students of Faculty of Hospitality based on the theme of Nutrition Week 2020. The awareness on the importance of nutrition for better health was spread through Poster/Painting making Competition, Video Making Competition, Quiz competition and Healthy and Economical Dish Competition.

Last day of the National Nutritional Week 2020, two Expert Sessions were held by Dietitian Shruti Singla (Lifestyle Change Diet) on Macronutrients and Dietitian Shreya Goyal (Shreya’s Family Diet Clinic) on autoimmune Diseases and Immunodeficiency. Both the experts encouraged to students to stay fit and healthy.

Chef Dhiraj, Head of the Department of Faculty of Hospitality concluded the session with the Vote of thanks.
