Ludhiana, February 13, 2026: The Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) on the directions of Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian and Chief Administrator Sandeep Kumar, the GLADA has initiated the long-pending construction work of “Missing Link–2 Part-C” road to provide relief to the residents of Ludhiana from traffic congestion.
The road project stretches from Malerkotla Road to the Sidhwan Canal–Lohara Bridge. It is being developed as a two-way, four-lane road along with the provision of a 20-feet wide service road. The total width of the road will be 200 feet with lush green central verge with plantation and state of the art street lighting.
The project has been awarded to a qualified agency through an e-tendering process for a period of one year, including five years of maintenance after completion. The construction work is expected to be completed by October 2026.
Once completed, this road will provide an alternative route for both external and city traffic coming from Ferozepur Road towards Malerkotla Road and Delhi Road for to and fro movement. This is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion at Sidhwan Canal and bring major relief to the general public. This will reduce the time by at least 20 minutes and more than 25000 commuters will use this particular stretch.
The Malerkotla road junction will be developed and maintained by GLADA. This project will enhance the economic activities in the area and will give major economic push to the overall development of the city.
