Rohtak, September 10, 2026: Gita is not merely a spiritual scripture but a practical guide that helps people navigate life’s challenges with wisdom, balance and self-discipline, Gita Manishi Gyananand Maharaj said while interacting with students at a Gita Samvad organised at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU).
Addressing the programme at Radhakrishnan Auditorium, organised by the Department of Students’ Welfare and Centre for Indian Knowledge System, Gyananand Maharaj urged students to focus on the present instead of overthinking about the past or worrying about the future.
Explaining the practical relevance of Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Jnana Yoga, he said Karma Yoga inspires people to work with determination; Bhakti Yoga strengthens the mind and builds confidence, while Jnana Yoga sharpens intellect and discretion. He urged students to make karma and hard work their strength rather than treating fate as a weakness.
Gyananand Maharaj said the purpose of education was not merely to earn degrees but to build energetic, confident, wise and compassionate individuals. He also administered three pledges to students—to stay away from drugs, serve elders and make cleanliness a part of daily life.
Eye specialist and motivational speaker Dr Markandey Ahuja said the Gita helps individuals connect with themselves, develop positive thinking and strengthen mental well-being.
Centre for Indian Knowledge System Director Prof Surender Kumar delivered the welcome address, while MDU Registrar Prof Sandeep Bansal proposed the vote of thanks. Former mayor Manmohan Goyal, Deans, heads of departments, faculty members, employees, research scholars and students attended the programme.
