GHSC-10 Organises Exhibition on Product Development

The students of Government Home Science College, Chandigarh exhibited their work of Product Development on the theme ‘Rang-Resham: A Journey through Threads and Dyes' on November 21, 2025. The main objective of the exhibition was to revive various traditional art forms such as Gandhara Art, Pattachitra of Orissa, Warli Art of Maharashtra etc.

GHSC-10 Organises Exhibition on Product Development

Chandigarh, November 21, 2025: The students of Government Home Science College, Chandigarh exhibited their work of Product Development on the theme ‘Rang-Resham: A Journey through Threads and Dyes' on November 21, 2025. The main objective of the exhibition was to revive various traditional art forms such as Gandhara Art, Pattachitra of Orissa, Warli Art of Maharashtra etc.

The exhibition included creative art works like Nail Weaving, Punching Embroidery, Screen Printing with Mughal Motifs, Macrame Knotting, Dot Mandala and Crocheting. There were more than 14 stalls of different Innovative Textiles Products consisting of wall panels, dupattas, suits, bags, paintings, cushions, embroidery hoops and frames.

Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal appreciated the efforts of students in putting up this exhibition and further emphasised that such innovative creations and redeveloping traditional art forms in textiles can lead to revival of dying art forms in India, thereby, contributing significantly towards conserving dying art forms.
