Chandigarh, February 13, 2026: Government Home Science College, Chandigarh organised an awareness session on ‘Reproductive Health’ on Thursday. The session was conducted by Dr. Pallavi Bansal, a renowned gynaecologist from Dharma Hospital, Sector-15, Chandigarh.
Dr. Bansal addressed important topics including menstrual hygiene, PCOD and PCOS, sexual health, healthy relationships and essential measures for maintaining safe and healthy sexual practices. She provided valuable insights and practical guidance to help volunteers better understand and manage their health.
The session was highly interactive with Dr. Bansal patiently answering all queries raised by the volunteers. To ensure a comfortable and open environment, volunteers were also encouraged to submit anonymous questions by writing them on chits, which were addressed thoughtfully during the session.
Approximately 150 NSS volunteers participated enthusiastically in the programme.
The Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal applauded the efforts of NSS Wing in organising such an informative and relevant session. She emphasised that awareness about physical and reproductive health is essential for the overall development of young women. She encouraged volunteers to seek accurate information from reliable medical professionals and to prioritise both their physical and emotional well-being. She further highlighted that such initiatives empower the students to make informed and responsible decisions regarding their health and lifestyle.
