GHSC-10 celebrates Akshay Urja Diwas

Chandigarh, August 26, 2022: The Environment Society- ‘Harita’ of the college in collaboration with CREST, Chandigarh Administration celebrated Akshay Urja Diwas on the theme "Impact of Akshay Urja in India."  Akshay Urja Diwas is an awareness campaign about the development of Renewable Energy in India.

Various Inter-college competitions like Poster Making and Placard Making were organised to create awareness about importance and developments of renewable energy in India. About 75 students participated wholeheartedly in the competitions. Sia and Sapna, students of B.Sc. Home Science 2nd Year, played a proactive role in organising this event and hence were awarded with the 'Green Ambassador Award' for their efforts.The activity was celebrated as an initiative under Institutional Innovation Council of the college

Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal, applauded the efforts of the participants for showcasing innovative ways of using renewable resources and reiterated that such events go a long way to encourage the masses to make use of renewable energy to create a cleaner and greener planet for our coming generations.
