Ludhiana, August 20, 2025: Department of Chemistry, Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana organized a Hands-on Fire Safety Workshop in collaboration with KP Fire Safety Solutions. The workshop was conducted with the objective of creating awareness about fire hazards in laboratories and equipping students with practical knowledge on the safe handling of fire extinguishers and other preventive measures. The session was facilitated by Pankaj Maini who demonstrated various types of fire extinguishers and explained their appropriate usage in different fire situations. Students and faculty members actively participated in the workshop, learning how to respond promptly and effectively during fire emergencies.
The workshop highlighted the importance of preparedness, presence of mind and adherence to safety protocols in preventing accidents and ensuring a safe laboratory environment. The initiative taken by the Department of Chemistry was highly appreciated by madam Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal who motivated students to participate in more such workshops that can instill confidence among them to tackle unforeseen emergencies.
