The vibrant event showcased a delightful spread of international cuisines, bringing together taste, creativity, and hospitality excellence under one roof.

Ludhiana: The Department of Hotel Management, Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, successfully organised an International Culinary Carnival – Food Festival at the college lawn. The vibrant event showcased a delightful spread of international cuisines, bringing together taste, creativity, and hospitality excellence under one roof.
The event was held under the esteemed leadership of Dr. S.P. Singh, President, GKEC and Former Vice Chancellor, GNDU, S. Harsharan Singh Narula, Honorary General Secretary, GKEC, and S. Hardeep Singh, Member, GKEC.
The programme was graced by Chief Guest Gaurav Mehta, General Manager, Radisson Blu, Ludhiana. The Guests of Honour were Avinash Jha, Executive Chef, Radisson Blu, Ludhiana, and Mohan Gill, eminent Canadian Punjabi writer and editor.
The festival featured an elaborate menu covering North Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Italian cuisines, Indian street food, and refreshing mocktails. From Sarson da Saag with Makki di Roti and Chole Bhature to Dumplings, Kungpao, Tortilla Wraps, Bruschetta, Grilled Fish, Pani Puri, and Virgin Mojito, the event celebrated global culinary diversity prepared and presented by students of the department.
Dr. S.P. Singh, in his address, appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to pursue excellence with dedication and innovation, emphasizing that skill-based education is the foundation of success in today’s competitive world.
Chief Guest Gaurav Mehta applauded the students for their presentation, taste, and professionalism. He remarked that the hospitality industry thrives on passion, discipline, and consistency, and appreciated GGNIMT for nurturing future hospitality leaders.
Harsharan Singh Narula congratulated the faculty and students for organising such a vibrant and well-coordinated event, stating that such initiatives reflect the institution’s commitment to holistic development.
Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT, welcomed the guests and appreciated the efforts of the Department of Hotel Management for providing students with practical exposure. He stated that such events bridge classroom learning with real-world hospitality experience.
Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal, GGNIMT, highlighted the importance of experiential learning and said that platforms like these enhance students’ confidence, managerial skills, and professional competence.
Prof. Shantimani Sathwara, Head, Department of Business Management, appreciated the initiative of the Department of Hotel Management and emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration.
